Oh. You know... just 5 (FIVE!!!) pieces of backpack flare to start off the new school year...
I asked her where she got them all and she shrugged and said she had been shopping for them all summer and just put them on her bag. Obviously my next question was... Shopping?? And, again, she shrugged and said she pretends to shop through our toys and some of them came from McDonald's and the other pieces Gramma Mac bought. She gives the most random answers.
I'm going to be honest with you guys. The last two weeks with Ainsley hasn't been the most fun. The girls went back to school, we were stuck hanging out with just each other for hours and hours and hours... and it was too hot to go do anything fun outside. It didn't help that she was beyond excited to go to preschool and it was killing her that the girls started and she had to wait.
Which leads me to this: I was maybe a teenie tiny bit sad about her starting preschool for all of .01 seconds this morning as I was driving to the gym. I knew that when I got home she would be awake, and bouncing off the walls to get to school... And then the moment passed really before it even started.
She's ready. I'm ready. Let's do this!
One more picture of all the backpack flare.
Obligatory first day of school picture outside in front of the house.
All I heard was... THE SUN. THE SUN. IT'S BRIGHT OUT. MY EYES HURT. THE SUN.
So, two pictures later... we headed back inside.
We had like 20 minutes before we had to leave... so I just kept snapping away.
Cracking up at how she's holding her hands. No idea where she got that from.

Daddy being a dork, and Ainsley.
I think she looks just like her daddy. (Well, if he had long, blonde hair).
Aren't you people going to leave so I can take my morning snooze in peace?
A slightly blurry picture thanks to RB's awesome photography skills.
I kinda sorta maybe think I was just a smidge more excited for her to start school than she was. But... you so can't tell that, right?!
Agnes decided to jump in a couple of pictures.
I feel like a joke was told, the girls are giggling at the punch line... and Aggie's all... What? I don't get it.
We made it to school and waited by the preschool doors for the teachers to come out. I can remember taking Ali's picture in the exact same spot and Ainsley would have just been a baby then.
The teachers came out and lined everyone up against the wall according to rooms. I love this picture of Ainsley and her friend (pink dress). No idea what the boy next to her is doing... Ha!
One last wave and we left. She was totally fine. I was totally fine. I had enough time to run home, eat breakfast, fold a load of laundry, wipe an enormous eye booger out of Agnes's eye... and I was headed back to the school to volunteer with Ali's class until it was time to pick Ainsley up.
It was when I saw this picture that I started to cry.
She looks so big.
So self assured.
